Zallaf Libya Oil & Gas: An Organic Digital Marketing Case Study

A client case study, first published in June 2024: search, social media, fake pages and two hacked accounts, for an oil and gas company owned by Libya’s National Oil Corporation.

· Globe Verifiers · Libya

Zallaf Libya Oil & Gas asked us for help with its presence online: its website and how it shows up in search, its social media, fake pages that used its name, and two accounts that had been hacked. This case study describes that work.

Disclosure: Zallaf Libya Oil & Gas was a client of Globe Verifiers. This case study describes our own work, in our own words; it is not a statement by the company.

About the company

Zallaf Libya Oil & Gas is an oil and gas exploration and production company and a subsidiary of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC). The project was run by Globe Verifiers and led by our founder, Mohamed Marmouri.

The challenge

The company wanted to solve five problems:

What we did

What came of it

According to our records, as first published in June 2024, the company regained control of its Google and LinkedIn accounts, its website traffic and social media engagement grew, and its online presence reached more people outside Libya.

The original case study gave no figures for the growth, so we cannot show you how large it was, and we have not added numbers now. Traffic or engagement figures are only worth quoting with their dates and their source.

Company background: National Oil Corporation (NOC) news releases, which describe Zallaf as a subsidiary, as read on 13 October 2026. The work and its results: Globe Verifiers’ project records, as first published in June 2024. Disclosure: Zallaf Libya Oil & Gas was a client of Globe Verifiers.

Updated 13 October 2026: rewritten for accuracy. The company is now named as it names itself, Zallaf Libya Oil & Gas, and described as an exploration and production company owned by Libya’s National Oil Corporation, replacing “a leading oil and gas provider”; “trusted partner”, “results that stand the test of time”, “remarkable results” and “skyrocketed” are removed, because the original gave no figures; “identifying and removing fake pages and negative content” now reads “reported the fake pages”, because the platforms, not we, decide what is removed; Mohamed Marmouri is named as our founder rather than as an “expert”; a client disclosure is added; the work is credited to Globe Verifiers (the original named Storified).
